Once you have narrowed down your keyword selection, use them as the foundation for your remaining SEO projects. Scatter them as often as possible throughout your site, and utilize them in your webpage titles.
It is important that each page has a unique title that represents the product. This is where keywords come in handy, and by naming your pages appropriately you can help each page rise in page rank. Try to find a consistent way to name your pages, and take the time to go through each one to verify that it is updated and correct.
Any link that goes back to your website will help a search engine determine the relevance of the site. This even includes social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Often one of the best ways to build links is to join a message board. Make sure that the message board is relevant to your product and service, and whatever you do, don’t spam the board. Take time to post and respond to posts, and only in the signature file of your posts should you include a link and short description of your website. These links to your page will increase your traffic and boost your search engine rankings.
There is some debate as to how important Metadata is. While these aren’t visible to your customers or people who view your website, they provide information to search engines regarding the content and relevance of you website. Metadata is added during the coding process of a website. If you already have a webpage up, you can check your metadata from any web browser by selecting View/Page Source. You will be looking for html tags that include key words and a short description of your site. In the event that you do not have these tags, they are fairly easy to implement. Again, go with your keywords and try to sprinkle as many in as you can for your site description.
Understanding these techniques, you can begin to increase your search engine rankings. While it may take some time, proper implementation and maintenance will increase your visibility, and ultimately your sales. There are many free trackers online you can use to see how well your efforts are working, so implement a tracking system and use that system to understand what keywords are working, and why.
